Like any major change program, the planning of the contract recompete journey is important to ensure you arrive at the correct destination. As your outsourcing contracts approach the end of their term, many factors have to be considered and important decisions made to ensure you are ready for change. All too frequently a contract is unnaturally extended. This is sometimes at the goodwill of the incumbent supplier and sometimes to their advantage. You need to anticipate change and prepare well ahead of time; it is not about whether something comes to market or not, but more critically the thinking and planning that happens ahead of any formal process. This paper discusses what you should consider to ensure you are fully prepared to either renegotiate or recompete your outsourcing contract.
