Mercer's second global study on the state of HR transformation updates their 2003 findings and includes responses from nearly 1,400 organizations in Asia, Australia, Europe,  Latin America, New Zealand and North America (Canada and the US).

The study reveals that the HR function continues to evolve and transform around the world. In fact, 50 percent of respondents say they are currently in the midst of a transformation process, while another 12 percent have completed an HR transformation within the past year and still another 10 percent plan to begin HR transformation efforts within the next year.

HR leaders are striving – with varying degrees of success – to have their functions contribute strategically and add value to the business. At the same time, they must continue to enhance the vital administrative aspects of HR. The 2006 study provides details.
