By Rolf E. Kleiner, KellyOCG
IF WE TAKE A LOOK AROUND, IT’S NOT JUST FINANCIAL MARKETS THAT ARE IN TURMOIL. Social and political environments across the globe are also in flux. Entrenched governments are falling, new networks and communities for social change are forming. We’ve entered a time of heightened volatility, increased instability and significant change—change that is accelerating with each passing day. To read more, click here.

We Need to “Insource” Education First President Obama!
By Elliot Clark, SharedXpertise
I love politicians. They mean well. There is no systemic problem that cannot be fixed with a stage and, of course, a microphone if you simply identify it, call it out and have at it. Today we are after the evil nemesis of American prosperity; dare I name that which shall not be spoken: OUTSOURCING.To read more, click here.

CARROT OR STICK? HOW CULTURE SHAPES ORGANIZATIONAL SAFETY
By Anthony Raja Devadoss, KellyOCG
Business is about making things happen. It’s about progress, achievement and growth. No
wonder the topic of workplace safety, which is about preventing things from happening,
can seem like a hard sell. From the outset safety issues feel like limitations, or worse still, like
impediments to speed, autonomy, and efficiency—and no one wants more of those at work. To read more, click here.

Innovation & the HR Officer
By Richard Crespin, SharedXpertise
In a recession, existing businesses shed jobs in an effort to cut costs and hoard cash for the lean months ahead. As the economy recovers, they start to add these jobs back. It’s economic churn, not new economic growth. So where does new economic growth come from? Innovation. To read more, click here.

Volatility Part of Business DNA in APAC, Talent2 Research Reveals
By Mary Sue Rogers, Talent2
Market volatility and skills shortages are now part of business DNA in Asia Pacific (APAC), according to our research. The findings from our APAC Market Pulse Study show that whilst the majority of businesses in China, Singapore and Hong Kong have experienced consistent growth since the Global Financial Crisis (GFC), 91% of business executives across the region (81% in Australia) are concerned about an imminent recession, with some markets, including Australia, still experiencing volatile market conditions. Encouragingly, 55% feel better prepared for market volatility having learnt from the last global downturn. To read more, click here.

By James Mendes, Futurestep
In a market as fast paced and dynamic as China, trends in recruitment progress rapidly. As HR managers in the country seek to ensure their own strategies moving into 2012 are aligned to and keeping pace with the overall business strategy of their company and can cope with sudden changes in strategy and/or economic conditions, they are faced with the added pressure of keeping their finger on the pulse of the recruitment market. Time to Change the Meaning of an ‘O’
By Faye Holland, SharedXpertise
Four years ago when I was in the BPO practice at IBM, my colleague Bill Payne constantly repeated that whether its BPO, FAO, HRO – it’s not a big O, it’s a little o. The premise behind this statement was that there are lots of ways of doing outsourcing and to choose the right solution may actually involve a combination of sourcing options. Simply, the ‘O’ is more than moving processes from in-house. To read more, click here.

Filling the Skills Gap
By Dirk Olin, SharedXpertise
How many times have you heard it from a company leader? “Our greatest asset is our people.”
As with most clichés, the aphorism is true. Except when it isn’t.
I’m not talking about the minority of corporations that possess such extraordinary physical assets—money, oil, property—that the holding trumps the value of their people. Google’s algorithms might well have greater value than its coders. Ditto Coca Cola’s recipe. But those fall under the category of exceptions proving the rule. To read more, click here.
