The European chapter of the HROA is the only professional membership association committed to promoting the advancement of human resources transformation in complex organizations in Europe. Membership in the Europe Chapter provides you with access to the largest Pan-European network of HR executives and experts who are pioneering the transformation of their organizations and creating HR’s new future.
HROA in Europe’s objective is to provide independent, unbiased expert- and peer-based support to its members. The association achieves this through:
- Organization of networking and knowledge-sharing events
- Independent research, benchmarking activities and commentary
- Education and development programs for staff and management
- Best practice sharing and establishment of common standards for the profession
- Educating public authorities and establishing public affairs activities in Europe
European Buyers Group
The European Buyers Group is led by Darren Bartholomew, Selex Galileo and Gary Madden, Kraft. The group holds 3 buyers group meeting each year and also convenes at the HROA supported event presented by SharedXpertise – HRO Summit Europe. Companies such as BAE Systems, IKEA, Selex Galileo, Baker Hughes, Unilever, Aon Consulting, Kraft and Aviva regularly attend the Buyer-only meetings hosted in cities across Europe.
The next meetings are 10th August and 4th October in Central London, and the group will convene at HRO Summit Europe on 2-4th November in Barcelona.

Regional Initiatives
Current European Initiatives include Learning SIG and RPO Alliance SIG local activities, and strong involvement in the certification project. Europe also runs regular Buyers Group meetings.
At the Chapter Board meetings, the Board often discuss pertinent topics which are written up in the Quarterly Pulse – our past discussion have been Exigencies and Those Magnificent Men In Their SaaS Machines.
In May 2011 the HROA was involved in the Shared Services and Outsourcing Week event and in November will convene at HRO Summit Europe
